The Tracy Camera Club subject of the month tonight was “Backlighting/Silhouette”. Many people took pictures of silhouettes, but I decided to try my hand at backlighting a translucent object. I chose to light a kiwi because I like the color and the pattern of the center with the seeds just looks cool.

The two judges we had for this meeting were split for the best picture, so my friend Kevin and I both won for the category/bracket.

I think I’ll try photographing other fruit like this. My wife wants me to try lemons so we can put up a few pictures in the kitchen. I am going to try several different fruits to see what I like.
